General Data Protection Regulations

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a legal framework that came into effect on 25th May 2018. GDPR sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals. GDPR affects everyone, every organisation you have ever given your personal information to, on-line, on paper or over the phone, must manage that information as per GDPR legislation. Your permission is required so they can continue to keep a record of your details, use your information ongoing or share your information with other parties. They must store your information securely, ensure it is accurate and delete it when there is no reason to keep the information. The financial penalties are significant for non-compliant organisations.

Your Parish Council is working to ensure their own compliance with GDPR and also supporting local charities to be compliant. More information will be published in the coming months from the Parish Council.
