Village Centre Recreation Field – Update 26th September
We’re pleased to share that the flooding at the Village Centre Recreation Field has receded, and the brook is now flowing freely.
Environmental Services from Horsham District Council have cleaned the affected equipment and surfacing this morning, and officers have removed the tape and signage.
The Parish Council will continue to pursue with West Sussex County Council for the identified maintenance.
Village Centre Recreation Field – Update 24th September
The raised water levels in the ditch are understood to be due to a blocked culvert that is the responsibility of West Sussex County Council. They have advised the culvert will be jet cleaned with some re-ditching work on the other side, next week.
In the interim, the Parish Council have sought advice and further assistance from Horsham District Council (HDC) and West Sussex County Council (WSCC).
Hazard tape and signage was added (23rd September). The water has now subsided from the play area (24th September) although debris remains. We have therefore requested the play area to be cleaned (jet-washed) which is planned for Thursday 26th September by Environmental Services at HDC. We will continue to monitor the area and keep residents informed.
