We are pleased to let you know that our first Community Forum meeting In January, successfully brought together several community groups to discuss current issues. These are planned to continue monthly, so please contact us if you are interested in joining this online meeting.

The Parish Council is aware of litter hotspots in the village and have identified where there is no, or limited, bin provision. We continue to look at longer term solutions to the problem, and we would like to bring residents attention to an initiative led by HDC called “Adopt a Street” (details can be found on their website). Councillor Christine Knight, Chair of our Recreation and Environment Committee signed up last year and says, ‘I was unaware of this initiative until I saw a neighbour wearing a Hi-Vis tabard using a litter-picker in my road. After talking to her, I went online and signed up and an HDC officer brought all the equipment to my house the very next day!’ We know other residents are actively doing their bit and thank them for their contribution. If you have signed up to the initiative previously, we would be keen to hear from you, so please let us know.

Despite the present restrictions, work within the council continues with all meetings currently online. Work is on-going with some of our bigger projects and minutes from all our meetings can be found on our website. As soon as we have definitive news regarding these projects, we will share them.

Whilst COVID-19 restrictions continue, it is great to see so many residents walking in the village and enjoying our open spaces. The daffodils planted over the past few years have started to show at the Newbridge end of the village and at the common; a visual reminder Spring is around the corner!

Take care,
